MUVO Media Server
MUVO Media Server home screen

One server. Every screen in your house.

Muvo ships four polished clients on the same feature bar, and the canonical UI, sat in the media server itself, is the visual reference every other surface tracks against.

A library-aware AI in every Muvo client.

Scout is the conversational layer over your shelf. Ask in plain English; it filters by what you own, what you have watched, runtime, mood, and cast. Approved Plans keep destructive writes like playlists, watchlists, and owner actions behind a review step.

“Find me an unwatched 90-minute heist movie tonight.”
ScoutPulls Heat, Inside Man, and Baby Driver from your shelf and adds runtime, year, and your watched state.
“Build a Bond marathon playlist, oldest first.”
ScoutDrafts a 25-title playlist, shows the Plan card, and waits for your approval before writing.
“Anything like Severance I haven’t seen?”
ScoutSurfaces Mr. Robot, Counterpart, and Devs from your library and explains the tonal overlap.
“Move the new Watch Folder file into TV Shows.”
ScoutIdentifies the file via TMDB, previews the rename, and runs it as an owner-only Plan you approve.

Scout never writes silently. You see exactly what would change.

Every owner-only action (playlist edits, watchlist changes, file renames, owner Watch-Folder moves, metadata refreshes) runs as a Plan card you can review, edit, or reject before anything hits the disk.

Approved Plans

Anything that writes (playlists, watchlists, owner moves) runs as a Plan card you review and approve. No silent mutations.

Memory across messages

Follow-ups feel natural. Scout keeps thread context and your saved taste signals so you can iterate on ideas without repeating yourself.

Per-user, personalised

Each Muvo AI+ account on your server gets its own Scout context, watch history, and taste signals. Household profiles stay separate.

Your files stay home

Cloud models see prompts and text metadata only. They never see raw video. Storage and streaming never leave your hardware.

Ready to put Scout to work on your library?

Muvo AI+ unlocks Scout, semantic search, recommendations, voice search, smart playlists, and the rest of the AI bundle, billed per user, per month.

Direct play first. Convert only what the client can't handle.

Other servers blanket-transcode and waste your CPU and your quality. Muvo probes every track, decides per-stream, and only pays the conversion cost for the parts that actually need it. Hardware-accelerated where the box supports it.

1. Probe

Inspect every track: codec, bitrate, resolution, channel layout, language, and HDR profile.

2. Decide

Direct play when the client supports it. Otherwise repackage or convert only the parts that need it.

3. Stream

HLS to phones, MSE to browsers, native to the WPF and Android players. Resume picks up where you left off.

  • Video is never re-encoded when direct play works, so you keep bit-perfect quality.
  • Audio downmix only when needed (DTS / TrueHD / E-AC3 to AAC stereo / 5.1)
  • Hardware-accelerated decode and encode on Intel QSV, NVIDIA NVENC, and Apple VideoToolbox
  • Subtitles burn in or pass through; PGS converted on the fly when the client cannot render
  • Bandwidth-aware ladders so a 4K HDR remux still plays cleanly on a hotel Wi-Fi

Smart Transcode ships with every Muvo media server. No extra plugin, no paid tier.

Get from folder paths to a working server.

Muvo guides the server owner through libraries, playback settings, metadata, and connectivity without hiding the important choices.

MUVO Media Server
Name your server

The wizard takes about three minutes from install to first stream.

Drop a file. MUVO does the rest.

Watch Folders identify content, match it to TMDB, preview destructive changes, and move it into the right library, with auditable history so nothing happens behind your back.

MUVO Media Server
Library management with Watch Folder

Manage your libraries

Movies, TV Shows, and Watch Folder, each with scan controls, metadata settings, and storage paths.

MUVO Media Server
Watch Folder move history

Automatic organisation

Every file is identified, matched, renamed, and moved. The full history is always visible.

One folder. Audited renames. Zero spreadsheets.

Try Muvo with your own library

Install the media server, connect a player, and feel how your existing files behave with modern metadata, Scout, and Smart Transcode on top.

Your shelf, organised the way you actually watch.

Auto-curated franchise collections, hand-built playlists, and a per-user watchlist that travels with you between web, Windows, and Android.

Auto-curated Collections

Muvo recognises franchises and groups them into beautiful collage cards (Marvel, Bond, Wizarding World) without you renaming a single folder.

Playlists across clients

Build watch playlists once. They sync to web, Windows, and Android. Scout can draft them for you and you approve before any write hits the server.

Watchlist + watched state

Per-user watched state, resume points, and watchlist follow you between devices. Mark a series watched on Android and the WPF tile updates instantly.

Sign in once. Your shelf travels with you.

Every detail, where it belongs.

Posters, cast, trailers, seasons, episodes, recommendations, and mood signals sit beside playback state. Click an actor; see the rest of the work you own.

See your library treated like cinema, not a folder tree.

Full visibility, zero guesswork.

Real-time CPU, memory, uptime, active streams, library stats, and storage breakdown in one panel.

MUVO Media Server
Server dashboard

Your data stays yours.

Your video files stay on your server. AI features use prompts and text metadata, not raw uploads of your movies.

MUVO Media Server
Privacy settings

Everything you need, nothing you don't.

Cinematic Library

4K posters, backdrops, full cast & crew, episode stills, ratings, and genre tags from TMDB. Your folder of MKV files becomes a cinematic catalogue.

Smart Transcode

Video is never re-encoded when direct play works. MUVO converts only what the client cannot play (e.g. DTS to AAC) using hardware acceleration. Zero quality loss when avoidable.

Muvo Scout

Library-aware AI chat for picks, semantic search, recommendations, memory, and approved Plans for owner-only writes. Lives in the rail, not in a separate silo.

Stream Everywhere

Web app, Windows player, Android phone/tablet/Shield/Fire TV. Start on your laptop, finish on your TV with resume points that follow the user, not the device.

Watch Folders

Drop a file, walk away. Muvo detects, identifies, fetches metadata, renames, and moves it into the right library. The full move history is auditable.

Skip Intro & Credits

Detect intros, recap, and credits automatically. One-tap skip on every client. No plugin, no extra subscription, and no fiddling with chapter markers.

Subtitles, Properly

Embedded, sidecar, and OpenSubtitles fallback in one search. PGS and ASS converted on the fly when the client cannot render. Per-user font and size.

Privacy First

Your video files stay on your hardware. Cloud AI features use prompts and text metadata only. Storage and playback never leave your server.

Multi-User

Owner, admin, and viewer roles with their own watched state, watchlists, taste signals, and Scout subscriptions. One server for the whole household.
